Course Intuition
This course tries to validate a number of intutions.
—That it makes sense to teach about “Globalizing Activism” by “encouraging” students to use the underlying information technologies that facilitated the rise of this form of activism.
—That one can cross the boundaries between Political Science and Sociology in pursuit of analyzing these forms of activism
—That there are “real world” examples, as well as provocations for the theoretical imagination that can be illustrated in the course of this inquiry.
—That one can teach across distance, from New York to Williamsburg, and not lose too much in the translation.
